The Plums of Life

Plums are so unique to me

I remember when I was a kid and I was first introduced to plums by my friend

It was the middle of May or June or July and it was like 95° and we were sitting up in my friends treehouse and she brought a bunch of fresh plums from her mom‘s trees in the front yard

I remember being so intrigued because it was like a peach but different

textures different tastes different. The coloration is different.

Plums are kind of like life in that way

On the outside, they look so clean and tidy and pristine and plump

But when you look on the inside, that is when you see the goriness fleshiness and the beauty of the whole fruit itself

I feel like oftentimes I present different than I do on the inside

Or maybe that is the point

We look at each other and we see the glossy and plump outside and realize the beauty in each other

Yet, when we look at ourselves from the inside, we just see the goriness and we don’t see the beauty

But it’s not the whole fruit if we just had the inside and it’s not the whole fruit if we just have the outside

I was reading this post from this one influencer and she was talking about how once she had a son and he had the same disabilities as her she saw that they were what helped him develop such a beautiful soul

And then she questioned if she can see it on him then she really needs to see the beauty of her disability on herself

We are all like plums in that way

It just takes seeing the beauty in others to recognize it
