A Uterus or a Noose?

I am scared

But how can I not be

I own a uterus after all

Sometimes I think owning one can be the most suffocating thing of all

I am disabled

I am a woman

I could die if I got pregnant 

In many different ways

Yet I have to have two children and the written consent of my partner to get my tubes tied

I could die

Many women will die

Many women have died 

In a nation celebrating to be the land of the free 

Yet I do not get to choose 

That choice is a matter of life and death 

But I am just a sinful woman

Eve picked the apple first after all

I live in the land of the free

Yet an evacuation plan is always tucked away in my mind 

Because I could die 

You ever like think back to the story of Adam and Eve and then…

Realize that maybe that cool snake satan would actually be valid and on your side?

Also that story tells that the serpent lost his legs like it’s a bad thing

Have you ever held a snake? Because they are pretty fucking awesome and way better off than lizards in a lot of ways.

Because biologically, fetuses start as a female and the penis does not develop until later

These politicians play with my body

Claiming that they are protecting life.

But in reality 

They are really just stringing up a uterus shaped noose

And it is the perfect size for me

I could die. Women will die. Women have died.

But I guess none of that matters now
